我一直都很抗拒即兴（improvise）。照我以往的逻辑，我一定要把东西安排得很清楚、很完整，才敢站上去跳。如果是平时的我，这样的邀请，我大概会直接推掉。

探讨如何使用马来民间舞蹈元素进行当代舞蹈创作
当我在马来西亚博特拉大学（博大）业余式地学习马来传统舞蹈时，我已经深深地爱上了这门艺术。它那手势弧线流动式的卷曲、身躯柔软优雅的拧转、双人舞蹈相敬如宾的迎合和礼让、善用通用 舞蹈语汇而进行有限度的现场即兴等等 — 这些温和的舞蹈符号，都描绘了我的故乡 — 吉兰丹州生活的写照。当时的我还没开始正式接受现代舞的训练。自此以后，马来传统舞蹈元素渐渐地影响了我日后当代舞蹈的创作。
